Sunday Service begin at 11:15am.
Each service follows a familiar pattern, however, every week has a different focus.
The fourth Sunday in the month especially follows a more informal approach when all ages worship together. On the odd occasion when there is a fifth Sunday in a month we hold joint services with our sister church St Mary’s Dalkeith.
Children and Young People
Sunday Club for 4-12yr olds meets during the service in the church hall. The children are welcomed into church to receive a blessing or partake in communion at the appropriate time. When there is no Sunday Club the area around the font can be used as a quiet play area. We provide age appropriate activity bags and colourful service books to engage with the children. Where possible we also encourage young people to play an active part in the Sunday morning worship.
Wednesday Morning Communion 10am
An informal gathering for worship, prayer and reflection with Communion takes place on Wednesday mornings.
House Groups & Reflections
Participation in a house group has long been a feature at St. Leonard’s. These small groups are a good place to develop knowledge of the Christian faith and to develop friendships with others. During the year we also organise Lent courses, and run Alpha or confirmation classes when needed.
Social Activities
Of course it is not just religious meetings that make a church tick so throughout the year a number of different social activities also take place. Our Ladies nights have proved popular, so too have our pancake parties, and we all look forward to the church’s Christmas Meal, Pantomime and other events throughout the year.
